A Red-necked Phalarope (Phalaropus lobatus) was found this morning [28-Abr] by June Taylor at Cerro do Bufo, Castro Marim. The bird appears to be a female that is moulting into breeding plumage. It was seen from the public track around the perimeter of the saltworks (park by the saltworks gate and walk the track to the left - clockwise - for about 500m).
The bird was still there this evening at the point along the track that is closest to the old de-commissioned ETAR ponds.
